WHY IS A COMPETENT SOURCE OF ADVICE NEEDED?
Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (Regulation 7) an employer is required to nominate one or more competent persons to assist him in the measures he needs to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed upon him by the relevant statutory legislation and by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
SO WHAT IS A 'COMPETENT PERSON'?
It is defined as a person who has suitable and sufficient training, experience, knowledge or other qualities to undertaking the task in question.
WHY OUTSOURCE THIS REQUIREMENT?
We at CSATS realise that for many SME's the cost of either having a full time safety advisor or training someone from within the firm to act as their 'competent person' as defined by the above regulation will be very prohibitive therefore we can act as your competent person for you by carrying out or working with you to ensure your health and safety requirements are complied with.
The benefits to you and your company are:-
➤ A safe workplace
➤ Peace of mind in respect to health and safety
➤ Save time and money
